Theme Tune:
Basic Theme tune idea:
CDC-E--

I want to try and use this not only for my theme tune but also at the end of the adverts too

Male Advert:
From the adverts I have seen it seems that it is mostly rocky popular music so this is probably the style that I will try to recreate.
I think I will add in some heavy guitars with some keyboards, synths and drums. I think even though this advert below is aimed at selling the iPod this is the kind of music that is very popular at the moment
http://www.tellyads.com/show_movie.php?filename=TA2540

Female Advert:
With the female advert I think I will use more of a poppy song with maybe a piano and acoustic guitars etc.
I think this is the kind of music I want for the female advert because this is the kind of song that would suit the genre of the music required
http://www.tellyads.com/show_movie.php?filename=TA7385

Buisness Advert:
For the buisness advert I think this is more the buisness style of what I am looking for:
http://www.tellyads.com/show_movie.php?filename=TA7536
I want to make a piece of music that kind of sounds synthetic and technological but remains business like, so using a bass guitar as the main background and using some pad sounds but also making sure that I can use a melody line of some description etc.

Elderly Advert:
This advert needs to keep the song less modern as such and quite acoustic. This advert isn't promoting a phone but I think this is a good kind of idea for the advert:
http://www.tellyads.com/show_movie.php?filename=TA10852
I might actually write a short acoustic song for advert. It shouldn't be hard to put together

14/10/10
Created start up music on song
Used Hybrid rise sound and clipped it to rise a bit faster than the original
Used Fat Sync and reverbed it just enough to fit the 3 seconds
Automated to mute sounds at 3 seconds
Added Soft Strings and brought down the reverb slightly to make it noticable

18/10/10
I started to create a female advert which was designed to be kind of acousitc but poppy but eventually turned into the elderly advert.
I inputted the guitar in as an acoustic track and added some EQ to raise the HIGH section. Added piano and Bass - EQed bass to raise the LOW section and added Harp and bit of percussion

01/11/10
I restarted the elderly and male adverts today as I thought of new better ideas to create. I also created a basic idea for the business advert.
Elderly - I had a basic tune idea of the repeating piano tune and then added the other parts of the song in the bass, drums and bass strings at the start. Little bits will be added in later and the sounds enhanced
Male - Added basic bass sound, acoustic guitar and the drums. Also synth strings sound. added loop idea for solo guitar. Will create own
Business - Have basic bass guitar idea for song. Also put in the backing drums. Will continue with this next time.

02/11/10
I realised that the business advert wasn't going in the direction I wanted it to and restarted it more in the style of what the brief was asking. I watched a bit of the apprentice from this week and got an idea of the style of music that was in there so I used it as a reference point.

11/11/10
Worked on the Male Advert. Added some pad sounds on the back. Also added a vibraphone to create a bit of variance

Tried out a few new ideas to work on the business advert however these were not creating the feeling that I was looking for. I also got rid of some of the bass which again didn't seem to flow. The basic idea still works though.

18/11/10
Worked more on the business advert today. This is now almost complete.
Added an ambient city sound on the background to give the sense that this man is on the move wherever. Underlied the bass with a deeper lower sound and also added a synth at the start which I tweaked on the release, attack and delay of both the LFO and the final sound.
Changed the building up second section to make it more with the feel that I was looking for. This would be the part where he is reminded about his anniversary and moves away from the work side of things.

Worked on the elderly comp briefly. Added timp. sounds. Need to be processed to sound more real.

22/11/10

Male Advert - These are the tracks that I have edited: The EQ, the space designer and the guitar amp pro have both been changed. The EQ is now analysed and equalised apart from on the bass where the EQ has been brought up on the low EQ to boost the sound more.

Business Advert - EQed in and added some low EQ into the two bass channels. (The first to channels labelled 'Liverpoo...' Added space designer to Brass and Cello and refined to get the right amount without sounding fake. Also EQed both too. Added more bass to the Brass channel and raised both hi and low on the cello section.

Drums (underneath) at the moment only EQed but may add some Space designer on to it. Low and Hi raised to try and equalise the audio but also add a bit of bass on.

I tried to get an idea for a female advert but in the end tried out two ideas which just weren't working. I do have a basic idea now and I will add other instruments next time around.

Went into the elderly advert briefly to try a bit of mixing while I was trying to pan out how the female advert should go. Please note the plugins on the mixer

06/01/11
Restarted the female advert and put used a jazz base for the song. Put in bass, drums and pad synth underneath

17/01/11
Have now got the base songs done on 4 of the 5 tunes. The only one left is the female advert which I still can't think of a good idea on! I went through 4 or 5 different ideas today but none were making the right impression on me and didn't sound like a female advert!

Bounced other 4. The musical logo just needs to sound a bit less harsh (THIS IS TO BE DONE NEXT TIME AS WELL AS DOING THE FEMALE ADVERT)
I will research female type phone adverts in my free time

24/01/11
Finally got an idea for the female advert using a guitar, drums, bass and piano mix at the moment. Will add on maybe some more synthy / poppy elements in later.
Went back the musical logo and changed the main sound to make it less of a harsh sounding material:

Changed it from the stock sound. Changed the glide, Release, and sustain of  the sound to make the sound still electronic and technical.
Also added EQ and spreader.
Also added EQ to the underlying synth

31/01/11
Mixing the songs today
Changed the sound for the logo again. Made it less harsh and then put the release up slightly.

15/02/11 - 20 minutes
Doing a bit of plug in work and equalising. I went through Everything expect the Logo sound and put some effects on the preset sounds and media. I also went through the Female Advert and made sure that all of the music was as it should be. There were a few errors.

So I believe that I am pretty much done. Today I found that someone had been messing around with the business advert and that the drums, second bass, and the first sound were all wrong. Infact the drums were completely gone and I had to try and recreate it from the audio track that I had created from the original. I also added some final effects to the other tracks
